Hello everyone. It is James from the Visual Impairment Team in Devon.

In this video I am going to demonstrate keyboard shortcuts that will help you edit your emails in Outlook.com

I will start with some technical information. In this video I will be using Microsoft Edge on a Windows 10 laptop.

I have already made a video about keyboard shortcuts that relate to writing and selecting different emails and there will be a link to that video at the end of this video.

That video will also explain to you how to check that keyboard shortcuts are enabled in your Outlook.com account.

On the screen you can see that I have an email that I am in the process of writing.

The first three keyboard shortcuts all relate to editing existing text and so before you can edit text, you need to select it.

And so I will select all of my email by pressing the control key and the a key.

To change the font press the control, shift and f key and move between the different fonts by using your up and down arrows.

To change the font size press the control, shift and s key and move between the different sizes using your up and down arrows.

To change the font colour,  press the control, shift and c key.

Unfortunately you can only select the different colours using your mouse.

To create a numbered list press the control key and the backslash key

To create a bulleted list press the control key and the . key

To align text left, press the control key and the l key

To align text centre, press the control key and the e key

To align text centre, press the control key and the r key

To insert a link press the control key and the k key

To insert an emoticon, press the control shit and y keys.

And again you can only move, you can only select an emoticon with your mouse, you can’t use your arrow keys.

To save a draft press the control and s key and to discard a draft just press escape and you will be asked if you really want to discard it.

And that is it!

12 keyboard that you may need when you are editing your emails in Outlook.com.

Remember that at the end of this video will be a link to my video on the keyboard shortcuts that you can use to write and send your emails.

In my next video, I am going to be concentrating on keyboard shortcuts that help you move to different places within your email account.

If this video has helped you, please share it with your friends, colleagues  and family.

If you have any comments or questions or anything to add to the discussion, please leave them below.

Thanks for watching.
